Trouble with sweat artifact?

Sleep Tech Tip of the Week

by Mike Miller RPSGT

If you are experiencing sweat artifact in your recordings here is a hook up tip, other than putting a fan in front of the patient or tuning down the AC to sub zero temperatures, that will drastically reduce sweat sway artifact in your recordings.

Add some antiperspirant to your preparation routine. After pumicing the hook up sites (i.e. Scalp,  Face, Chest, Legs) place some unscented antiperspirant (either solid or aerosol) on a piece of gauze and gently rub the prepared area.

This technique will not only help you obtain a clearer recording but will keep the patient more comfortable and eliminate the needs for multiple blanket request!
