SleepvirtualNews releases the 2011 Sleep Market Research Results

After 2 months, invitations were sent to 14,000 participants for the biggest Sleep Market Survey in 2011.

Sleepvirtual News releases the results of more than 400 participants that answered questions related to a variety of aspect of their daily life. Through their responses we discovered which were the sleep conferences they attend, magazines they read, equipment they own, and their level of satisfaction with each manufacturer.

“The results were very interesting and bring new information to the field”, said Ed Faria, Sleepvirtual CEO.

When looking at trade shows, clearly you will see that APSS is a physician conference (74.6% of the MD’s answered that they attend it annually). Local Sleep Societies are geared towards RPSGT’s, and Lab Managers (67% of lab managers attend their local sleep society conference annually).

Magazines were a lot more predictable, due to consistency of information content offered.

AASM Journal for example is clearly a physician publication (57% of the MD’s claim to read it regularly).

SleepReview proved to be the dominating force in the RPSGT arena and number 1 magazine for Lab Managers, Lead Techs and Night Technicians. As we predicted, the other magazines in the field have a much smaller percentage of regular readers.

In addition, another important piece of information was the discovery that a majority of the Lab Managers hold a RPSGT credential (75.9% of the Lab Managers), also 89% of the night shift techs hold an RPSGT credential, along with 90.9% of the lead techs.

RRT represents less than 8% of the credentialed in Sleep, which was really a surprise to us.

The best surprise in the study was the customer satisfaction results. They were asked to give their overall satisfaction levels according to the different brands they currently owned.

The results prove that Sleepvirtual currently holds a small percentage of market share of US install base, but it also proves that it holds the best rated customer satisfaction in the sleep diagnostic industry.

Having expanded into sleep in 2008, it is the youngest company to start marketing and selling type I PSG in the U.S. but the results shows that the company has been doing a great job.

From every 5 Sleepvirtual customers, 4 were very satisfied and 1 was satisfied. “These great results show that the best way to gain customer trust and market share is through offering the best customer service in the industry along with a quality device and easy to use software” said Felipe Lerida CPSGT, Customer Service Manager.

The research was advertised to 14,000 sleeps professionals with different backgrounds via email. We received over 1,100 clicks from the link going to the survey landing page and 401 completed survey responses which were included in the final results published.
