How likely is it for soemone to go without sleep for over 42 hrs.

How typical is it for someone on a regular bases (2 times a week) to go without sleep for 2 days straight without sleeping even a minute even though they have laid down several times a day attempting to?

And only sleeping 3 to 4 hrs of broken sleep in between?
